Well hello there...
After hearing the earth-shaking “Thwompf” of the Jurassic Park T. Rex footstep in a cinema in 1993 (aged 8, wide-eyed, mind blown, ZERO sleep that night), I decided that sound was going to be my thing. From that moment on, I spent every summer holiday until 16 happily disappearing into media and film courses across the south of the UK.
From ages 16–18, I studied a BTEC National Diploma in Sound and Moving Image at Bournemouth’s Arts Institute, before continuing on to a Foundation Degree at Plymouth College of Art and Design. Somewhere along the way, I did what any sensible student would do: spent my student loan on building a modest Pro Tools rig, recording music and tackling sound for student films.
In 2004, at just 19, I joined Films@59 Ltd. Working my way up from runner, through the audio machine room, and eventually into the chair I had been aiming for all along — Dubbing Mixer (Re-recording Mixer).
I'm now an Emmy® Award-winning mixer, with extensive experience across drama, documentary and landmark natural history. Some of my recent credits include Disney’s A Real Bug’s Life S1&2, Apple TV’s Prehistoric Planet (1 & 2 &3), National Geographic’s Incredible Animal Journeys, and Netflix’s Secret Lives of Orangutans.
Known for my attention to detail, dedication to client satisfaction, and a firm belief that great work should also involve a jolly good giggle, I'm lucky enough to be a highly sought-after mixer — and still quietly grateful to a certain dinosaur for setting the whole thing in motion :-).
